Park to Park Trail Launch

June 27, 2012

This morning Linkhouse Media is proud to launch the new website for Park to Park Trail Association. The Park to Park Trail network includes trail sections of historic rail beds and colonization roads, as well as newly developed trail, and road sections. We worked closely with Christina Bossart (incidentally, the second of two sisters we have worked with), who was extremely dedicated to pulling the project together, even after her contract ended with Park to Park.

Christina’s vision for a fresh new brand for Park to Park came to fruition when she hired Julia Archer of Grey Owl Graphics to work her magic. The result is amazing and really brings Park to Park’s image to life with a clean, modern look and a bit of a retro flair. Enter Linkhouse Media to pull things together in a robust content management system, shopping cart integration and custom visual theme.

Visit Park to Park and have a look!

My Chef In Muskoka & More

June 13, 2012

My Chef In MuskokaIt’s been a while since you’ve heard from us. It’s not that we haven’t been launching websites; we’ve just been too busy launching to blog! We have had a great spring helping our clients get online with either their first site or a revamp of an existing one.

First up we have My Chef In Muskoka. The amazing Kyla and MacKenzie Taylor are owners and chef of a company that takes world class dining to your home, cottage or event. With their private dining experience or private chef’s table at their market in Baysville, Ontario, they and their team deliver HUGE. This is not catering, folks. This is an experience that begs to be enjoyed. Linkhouse Media teamed up once again with the amazing Sara Tyson to create a visual dish that tempts the palate almost as much as Mac’s cuisine!

Explorers' EdgeNext up is Explorers’ Edge. Explorers’ Edge is the popular Ontario travel destination with Algonquin Park, the Almaguin Highlands, Muskoka and Parry Sound within its borders.  The region also touches iconic Georgian Bay to the west and Lake Nipissing to the north. The website boasts our favorite (and best) content management system, WordPress and is chalk full of custom plugins developed by yours truly. We have used WordPress to the max this time around with custom post types and themes.

CBDCThe Parry Sound Area Community Business & Development Centre is next. This great local organization is a federally supported not-for-profit Community Futures Development Corporation, governed by volunteers in partnership with FedNor. The services provided by the CB&DC exist to promote economic growth and community development of the Parry Sound region. The centre focuses on job creation by community strategic planning and providing funding and advisory services to area businesses. This Linkhouse Media project took the existing website and brought the look and programming up-to-date, as well as added CMS functionality and a comprehensive online application form for loan applications.

GBBRNext we have the Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve. The Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve model aims to integrate core protected areas (such as provincial and national parks), surrounding buffer areas (mostly Crown Lands) and an outer transition area of communities that support sustainable development. It was our pleasure to work with a great group of people who work hard to raise local awareness in protecting the environment, create vibrant communities and build a healthy economy.

SiSi Started ItLast but not least, we have SiSi Started It. Andrea Tranter is creating natural products that are healthy for the skin and use ingredients that are only found in nature. Check out Andrea’s new Linkhouse Media website for all of her amazing products and while you’re there, order some! With paypal integration, purchasing is easy and secure.

Thanks for checking in. We can’t wait to show you what we’re working on next! Cheers.

Richard Culverwell Photography

January 25, 2012

Richard Culverwell PhotographyMy friend Richard Culverwell has recently launched his new photography portfolio with the help of Linkhouse Media. Richard made it clear right from the beginning that the focus of this site be the photography. We have built a site with a clear focus on his amazing work. The site features galleries, some helpful information from Richard and a responsive design that scales for mobile devices. It even incorporates a great touch swipe feature for mobile users which provides easy navigation through the photos.

Have a look through his galleries and you’ll notice that his attention to detail, scale and composition make for some fantastic photography. I can’t wait to add some to my home! Thanks, Richard.

November 29, 2011

Huckleberry'sHuckleberry’s in Parry Sound is a specialty retailer of home and cottage furnishings. It’s one of those places you walk into and are greeted with an amazing aroma of scented candles, pine cones and sachets. It’s a cozy store that cottagers and locals flock to when they need that perfect item for their home or cottage or simply need to take in the sights at Parry Sound’s amazing waterfront.

Linkhouse Media has developed a website that has the clean look and feel that Huckleberry’s works hard to achieve in their store. We went with a clean, contemporary feel that is designed to provide the information potential customers need as well as let the store and product images shine.

Festival of the Sound site launch

April 1, 2011

Festival of the SoundThis is not an April fools joke, but it is another great day at Linkhouse Media as we officially go live with the all new festivalofthesound.ca! Over the past few months we have had the pleasure of working under the art direction of the amazingly talented Sara Tyson who envisioned the look of the site as well as the Festival’s print media. My hat is off to the Festival of the Sound’s incredibly hard-working  Marketing & Community Relations coordinator Carla Bossart, who worked many long hours filling the new website with content. Carla, along with Festival Executive Director Margie Boyd were instrumental in coordinating the site structure and content, and were able to clearly communicate their needs as the project moved forward.

The Festival of the Sound is in its 32nd season this year and will run from July 15th to August 7th with the Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts being its main venue. The Festival features renowned artists from all over  the world who come together on beautiful Georgian Bay to wow audiences year after year. It has been our pleasure at Linkhouse Media being a part of such a great organization and we look forward to a continued relationship with the Festival.

Some of the features of the new website include Linkhouse Media’s own custom Content Management System, dynamic page, artist and event creation, a WordPress blog integration with media gallery and custom theme design, a custom theme design for the online ticket portal and much more.

Head over to festivalofthesound.ca and let us know what you think! The new Festival website is proudly hosted by Linkhost Media.

Exciting things for 2011 at Linkhouse Media!

December 20, 2010

Festival of the Sound

We are very excited to announce that Linkhouse Media has signed a design contract with the Festival of the Sound to develop their new website. This project will include our custom Content Management System as well as incorporate online ticket sales through the Festival’s very own ticket portal.  Our goal with this project is to give users a great online experience as well as allow the Festival staff to make regular updates in a timely manner. We are also excited to work with the very talented designer Sara Tyson who is designing the visual aesthetic for all Festival of the Sound digital and print media for the 2011 season. Look for a site launch with online ticketing opening April, 2011.

Some other great projects in the new year include contracts with Huckleberry’s, a unique Parry Sound shop specializing in high quality items for your home, cottage and garden, as well as the first ever website for the St. James Centennial United church in Parry Sound.  Both of these websites will feature a WordPress framework and custom theme design by Linkhouse Media. Our office at 17 Bay St. smells great thanks to the Merry Memories scented envelope sachet Michelle picked up at Huckleberry’s!

Finally, we are working with The PaperWasp Design Studio to provide a new website for the The UpTown Waterloo Business Improvement Area. This project is gearing up for a spring launch and will replace their current website.  It’s great to be branching farther out into Ontario.

We would love to add your project to our 2011 calendar. Contact Jason Rosewell today at (705) 751-LINK.
